I just got back from Canada last night, and let me say, GT's all around. Canadian Otaku really know how to have fun!

Friday: Matt and I drove from his house to Toronto, got checked in to the hotel, did all that necessary stuff. We waited for Monique, and then we picked up our con badges. After that, we got changed into Suzaku, Euphemia, and SPARTA!Louch, and headed over to the Momiji Gallery so Monique could hang up her artwork. While we were just walking around, we got a hall award!

Then it was time to run over to the Skit Contest and get situated with that. So, fun story, Matt and I get onstage and are waiting for a good minute, when they announce they are having technical difficulties and CANNOT play our audio. So, that was pretty much a bust, and we were pretty disappointed. However, it does get better.

So, a bit crestfallen, we decide to go back to the hotel, eat, and call it a night. On the way back, we got a lot of pictures so that made us feel a bit better.

Saturday: Our plan for today was to just relax, maybe go to some panels, and then watch the Costume Contest later that night. Well, when we went to pick up our wristbands for the costume contest, staff from the masquerade approaches us and says that since our audio failed the night before in the skit contest, we could do our skit during the costume contest instead, since the technical problems had been fixed. We were ecstatic! So, we round up Monique, and look around Artist's Alley and the Dealer's room in the process, and experience the mid-day Parking Lot Rave, which was pretty amazing.

Yes, they did play "I'm on a Boat". XD Don't you just LOVE the ghetto fence adding to our gangsta cred?

And later that night, we get to do our skit without a hitch: Skit-chan!

Unfortunately, awards weren't being announced until after another event, and it was already close to midnight (and we had been in our costumes since 9am that day, so we were pretty beat), so we skipped out.

Sunday: Matt and I cosplayed C.C. and Lelouch

and decided to head over to the masquerade area to check out if we had won anything. We weren't really expecting to, since we were only in the costume contest by default of our audio not working for the skit contest. We ended up getting "Best Musical Performance", though, and we all got ribbons with maple leaves on them. It was pretty sweet. :D

For the rest of the day we just walked around and cosplayed, and checked out the dealer's room more in depth.

All around, a pretty solid con. I'm probably going to make plans to go again next year.

I had a great time at Megacon! There were some ups and downs, but I think the good outweighed the bad. It was so depressing having to leave the convention and go back to school. On top of that, I think I'm getting sick because my throat feels like it's on fire. But anyway, onto the report!

Friday: We got to the convention center around 5 and spent our time picking up our wristbands and browsing the dealer's room. None of us bothered to get into our costumes since it was getting late. Our friends who left later than us got in around 8, so after checking out

sakura02's artist alley booth, we decided to head back to the hotel to meet them. Drama ensued later that night, and I'm sorry to everyone who was involved. Everything got resolved, though, so no worries.

Saturday: Everyone got up early to change into their costumes. I changed into Jibril, and my mom drove us to the convention center so I could be pre-judged for the costume contest. Roy escorted me to the pre-judging, and in the meantime, Mandy, Michael, and Melissa went to help Monique with her artist alley table. Luckily, I got in line early, so I got in and out in time to watch the AMV contest, in which Roy had entered an AMV. After that, I had to line up for the costume contest presentation. After the contest, I ditched my hoopskirt of doom and changed into Sara so I could go to the rave. The rave was really hot and kind of smelly, though, so the group of us wandered in and out.

Sunday: We didn't really have anything planned for Sunday, so that was our "get pictures and swoop in on the dealer's room" day. Roy and I finally tracked down Maboroshi after missing him on Friday and Saturday and got some Shigure/Akito pictures. I think the only event we went to was Karaoke, and then we had to leave.
